Founder and former CEO/Board Chair of Sharklet Technologies, Joe has 12 years in life science companies and development. With prior positions as a partner at Arthur Andersen and Operations Executive for AT&T Broadband, Adelphia, and ClearChannel, as well as a successful track record of starting, building, and developing companies, Joe brings significant scale operations experience and P&L responsibility to STAQ.
Jeff Hval, COO/Chief Pharmacist and Board Member
As a graduate from the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy with 25 years in infusion pharmacy, Jeff understands sterile drug formulation development, compounded sterile drug product manufacturing, pharmacy operations, federal and state drug regulations, controlled substances management, and hospital pharmacy management. He is also the founder of QualMed Pharmacy, the largest hospice infusion pharmacy in Denver.
Mark Spiecker, President and Board Member
Mark brings more than a decade of life sciences and biotech experience in both medical device and pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. As CEO of Sharklet Technologies, Mark was instrumental in growing Sharklet and leading the company’s 2017 sale to Peaceful Union, a Chinese bioscience group. A board member of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, a Trustee for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and past Chair of the Colorado BioScience Association, Mark has a history of community engagement and success in Colorado.
Amanda Koperski, VP of Quality & Compliance
Amanda is a Quality Assurance leader with in-depth experience implementing quality systems in manufacturing environments for both new facility startups and established operational environments. Her leadership focus is two-fold: strategic planning, and supporting employee and team development. With a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Amanda’s expertise includes biologics, vaccines, and solid oral dosage products. She is passionate about ensuring regulatory compliance and quality operations, and loves connecting with — and helping — people through pharma. Amanda takes great pride in using pharma to impact patients in a healing, life sustaining way.
Visante’s Senior VP, Hospital and Health Systems Services, Greg has particular skills in the areas of hospital pharmacy operations management, standards and compliance, patient safety, multiple facility redesigns and launches, retail administration, automation, and specialty pharmacy including the 340 Drug Discount program. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt in performance improvement methodology. An ethical and results-focused executive leader with a reputation for successfully driving initiatives to completion, Greg possesses a global operational perspective and an ability to successfully weigh internal and external factors in identifying and implementing solutions He is known for a strong intuitive understanding of people, which promotes effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
Visante’s Senior Director, Fred (PharmD, FASHP) is a researcher, educator, and crusader for proper hazardous drug management and the safe disposal of pharmaceutical wasted. He has worked with multiple hospital pharmacy teams to enhance clinical services, aggressive formulary strategies, community emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, computerized clinical programs, and fully automate medication management processes. The overarching goal: patient safety while continuously striving to exceed regulatory and practice standards as defined by state boards of pharmacy, DEA, EPA, OSHA, TJC, CMS, ASHP and USP (emphasis on chapters <795>, <797>, and <800>). Fred has been honored as the Health-System Pharmacist of the Year by the Nebraska Pharmacists Association, recognized by the United Way as Health-System Volunteer of the Year, and given testimony to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources, Subcommittee on Insular Affairs on the topic “Overdose: How Drugs and Chemicals in Water Supplies and the Environment are Harming our Fish and Wildlife.”
Dr. Mark Twite
A pediatric anesthesiologist with more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Twite is the Director of Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology at Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. He earned his medical degree at University of Cambridge, England and was a fellow at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr. Twite is certified in pediatrics, pediatric critical care medicine, anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, and congenital cardiac anesthesia. He has had more than 60 peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals and books and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society.

Donna Lynne, DrPH, is Colorado’s 49th Lieutenant Governor and Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, she works closely with the Governor and Cabinet to drive better performance, accountability and transparency throughout state government operations. Prior to assuming her roles in Colorado state government, Dr. Lynne served as the executive vice president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, and as group president responsible for its Colorado, Pacific Northwest and Hawaii regions, overseeing an $8 billion budget, 1.4 million members and 16,000 employees.
Jerrod is the VP of Operations and interim chief HR officer at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He has enterprise responsibility for their Professional Services Division, comprised of pharmacy, laboratory, clinical nutrition, and radiology. Jerrod has overseen divisional workforce of 800+ FTEs and combined annual operating budget in excess of $125 million, with gross operating revenues exceeding $700 million and is responsible for leading the development and execution of divisional strategic operating plans in addition to maintaining compliance with regulatory, quality, and service-related standards.
Dan is an experienced tax professional who provides tax compliance and consulting, accounting, and valuations. His main focus areas include partnership and corporate income tax matters, real estate, S corporations, individual taxation and IRS matters and controversies. He also provides valuations of closely held businesses and professional practices, qualified retirement plans, mergers and acquisitions, business and tax planning and due diligence.
Steven Summer has more than 40 years in the healthcare industry and currently serves as President of the Healthcare Institute, a nonprofit comprised of 35 of the country’s most progressive, successful, and admired hospitals and health systems. Most recently, he has served as President and CEO of the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) from 2006 to 2019, was a member of Colorado’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Health Care Reform, and in 2010, received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Regent Service Award. Steven is passionate about advancing health care leadership and supporting the successful evolution of health systems.
